Welcome to the Curran Index, an attributional index of articles in nineteenth-century British periodicals named after its founder, Professor Eileen Curran. This index and website are sponsored by the Research Society for Victorian Periodicals.
As of March 2019 the Curran Index references more than 53,000 articles, reviews, and poems or poem groups published in nineteenth-century periodicals -- including almost 25,000 entries for the Athenaeum (from data generously provided by City  University, London), over 5,000 entries for the Saturday Review, and about 1,000 additions and corrections to its precursor, the Wellesley Index to Victorian Periodicals.  The remanining 22,000 entries are for:
