Saturday Review

The Saturday Review (SatR) was an influential weekly newspaper covering politics, literature, science, and the arts. The definitive study of SatR is Merle Bevington's 1941 book, The Saturday Review 1855-1868.

The Curran Index follows Bevington but includes many thousands of additional attributions for the years 1855 through 1900. A variety of sources have been drawn upon for these listings; James Kirby and Peter Ghosh are particularly thanked for allowing us to draw upon their unpublished study of the writings of Edward A. Freeman.
